Dear Uhuru Family,
As someone who was recently racially profiled and assaulted by the police in the United States, the last couple of weeks have been a lot to handle emotionally. It's been hard for black people around the world, and I hope you are staying safe and keeping your head up.
For me, it was very important to take out time to process whatever I was feeling deeply and completely at that moment. Till today the feelings remain valid.
Uhuru was founded to establish meaningful change. We have always advocated for freedom, especially within the black community in the diaspora, and we will continue to do so. We strongly stand against Racism and Police brutality.
To continue to support the black organizations advocating for our rights and protect the people on the frontlines protesting for us, Uhuru pledges to donate 50% of its profits over the next 6 months to the organizations and movements that are committed to fighting for black empowerment, police reform, and against racial inequality.
We will also be taking an extra step to further support the protesters on the forefront of the Black Lives Matter movement. Effective immediately, we will be forfeiting 100% of our profits and applying them as 65% discounts to all 10,000 units of our cotton face masks available now. For every mask purchased we will also be donating a dollar to match.
At Uhuru, we will continue to advocate and fight for the advancement of the black community, and this is just the beginning. We see you. We hear you. We support you, and we stand in solidarity with you.
